SHELDON – Doris Elaine “Tubby” Derry, age 67, passed away peacefully at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans Thursday evening October 13, 2005 following an extended illness with her loving family at her side.

She was born September 2, 1938 in Sheldon the daughter of the late Clarence Sr. & Beatrice (LaChapelle) Bocash.
Doris was a member of the Sheldon Methodist Church. She was a stay at home Mom until her youngest child started school. She worked at Duffy’s General Store, the Napoli Home in Sheldon, and her most rewarding job was as an LNA for the Franklin County Home Health Agency. Upon her retirement due to poor health, she became a red hat lady, bowled with the Tuesday morning league and napped in the afternoon watching soap operas.
Her most loved activities were RVing, attending bluegrass festivals, cooking adventures, and playing five hundred with family and friends.
She is survived by 6 children, Deborah and her husband Dale Peloubet, Bryan and his wife Lori Derry, Jean and her husband Mark Baker, Sydney “Skip” Derry, Kimberlee and her husband Jack Dufresne, and Todd and his wife Tracy Derry all of Sheldon; eleven grandchildren, Derek Peloubet, David and his wife Shalyn Peloubet, Matthew Derry, Erin (Dufresne) and her husband John Montagne, Justine Derry, Nicholas Baker, Corey Derry, Jesse Derry, Kevin Baker, Jacob Derry, and Jordan Dufresne; 2 great grandchildren, Emilia Montagne, and Seth Peloubet; 3 brothers, Clarence Bocash Jr. and his wife Dorothy, Ronald Bocash all of Sheldon, and Peter Bocash of Swanton; 3 sisters and their husbands, Janice & Lyle Ladieu of Swanton., Dale & Lloyd Duffy of Sheldon, and Joan & Frank Pariseau of Enosburg Falls; a sister-in-law and her husband Arlene & Alton Herron of Enosburg Falls, and a brother-in-law, Miles Sartwell of Highgate; several nieces & nephews; and her dear friend and traveling buddy, Sally Boudreau. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Lester A. Derry on October 12, 2000 they were married on December 1, 1956; a sister, Phyllis J. Sartwell; and a sister-in-law, Susan Bocash.
Doris will be remembered for her gentle, caring ways and her love for life
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon Methodist Church with Pastor Donavee Copenhaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
